The RES-Q Child Sleeper was invented for children one year of age and older (or greater than 25 lbs.) who suffer from reflux, asthma, sleep apnea, allergies or congestion. The Sleeper is perfect for toddlers who have outgrown the RES-Q Wedge and still need elevation. This product can be used for side or back sleeping in a crib or in a bed. Each sleeper comes with its own super soft Minky washable cover. The RES-Q Child Sleeper can be comfortably used by all children up to 9 or 10 years of age. The RES-Q Sleeper provides containment and elevation at 3 different levels:
1. Mild Elevation – The RES-Q Child Sleeper can be used as purchased placed in a crib or bed. The child’s head must be resting on the plateau (flat) portion of the sleeper. This will achieve an 18 degree elevation which is desirable for infant’s that are growing out of their reflux. The Velcro foot rest provides containment and should be removed once the infant’s legs grow past this point.
2. Moderate Elevation – A regular sized personal sleeping pillow can be placed on the plateau portion of the sleeper to attain additional elevation (5-7 more degrees depending on the thickness and firmness of the pillow). Please discuss with your physician when it is safe for your child to use a personal pillow for sleeping.
3. High Elevation – Further elevation of the RES-Q Child Sleeper can be achieved by placing a pillow or blanket under the head of the crib or bed mattress. This can elevate the Sleeper to at least 30 degrees if your child still has severe reflux or congestion. A large pillow or blanket can also be placed at the bottom of your child’s feet to help secure them on the RES-Q Sleeper for extra containment.
Each RES-Q Child Sleeper comes with a fully washable caramel color Minky cover which is velvety soft. Underneath the Minky cover, the foam sleeper is protected by a separate washable moisture barrier pad. The Minky cover and the moisture barrier pad are both secured by Velcro tabs underneath the sleeper. The Minky cover simply unzips for easy washing (be sure to Velcro the tabs together before placing in the washing machine to avoid lint accumulation).
The dimensions of the RES-Q Child Sleeper are 32.5”L x 24”W x 11.5”H and it weighs 6 lbs.
